The Rehab Center for Birds (Guira Oga)

Vistas 1297

The Guira Oga (“birds house” in the Guarani aboriginal language) refuge was founded in 1997 by two naturalists specialized on birds recovery.

Here you’ll walk along some paths surrounded by the jungle and you’ll meet some peculiar guests: those injured animals that cannot be freed again on their specially designed enclosures, which recreate their natural environment. This refuge is not a zoo, but a center where wild animals with injuries recover, while they are incapacitated to go back to the jungle. Once they fully recover, they are sent back to the wild.

With your visit you’re helping that this work continues.

Recommended for people of all ages and health condition.

Open daily from 9 to 6 (last visit 4.45).
